Pakistan Hockey Team to Play World Cup Qualifier 2026 in Egypt

The Pakistan hockey team will compete in the FIH Hockey World Cup Qualifier next year in Egypt. As one of the sport’s most successful teams, Pakistan hockey World Cup qualifier participation is a key step in their preparation for the 2026 FIH World Cup, which will be held in Germany and the Netherlands, where Germany will defend its title.
Pakistan, a four-time World Cup champion, has been placed in Pool ‘B’ for the qualifiers. They will face strong teams including England, Australia, host Egypt, Malaysia, the USA, Japan, and China. The pool stage will determine which teams advance to the World Cup.
Before the qualifiers, the national team, led by Imad Shakil Butt, will participate in Pro League 26 from February 10–14, 2026, in Hobart, Australia. They will play four matches against the World Cup champion Germany and host Australia, providing vital practice ahead of the qualifiers.
